The daughter of Sungold is the winner of 15 of her 21 career starts with 14 of those coming at this venue. However she suffered a shock defeat when she could finish only fourth dropped to six-and-a-half-furlongs for an allowance contest on seasonal debut last month. The step back up in distance is a positive here and coming into this contest on the back of a 59.20 five furlong work here she looks capable of returning to winning ways.
6:39 pm Hastings (Race 4) – Air Force 6/5 (2-star play)
The filly showed plenty of ability at this venue as a juvenile including when winning a six-and-a-half-furlong stakes contest in October. A third place upped to a mile-and-one-sixteenth followed and she has shown good form in her three starts this season winning all three including over this course and distance in a stakes contest at the start of last month. The pick drew three-and-a-quarter-lengths clear of her rivals that day and is taken to complete a four-timer.
8:17 pm Hastings (Race 7) – Legacy Square 2/1 (2-star play)
The three-year-old has finished in the first two in eight career starts. All eight of those races have come at this venue including when delivering a half-length victory in the Chris Loseth Handicap over this course and distance at the start of last month. The second and third home that day, Accidental Hero and Lucky Force both re-oppose here but Amadeo Perez’s mount looks up to confirming that form to provide trainer Edgar Mendoza with a stakes win.
