There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, up 255.45 units dating back to August 5.
Here are 5 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.
12:00 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 1) – Flor De Plata 2/1
On the board in three of her five starts to date. he daughter of Uncaptured was putting a couple of disappointing efforts behind her when racing prominently prior to finishing third in a $12,500 maiden claimer over six furlongs at this venue just under a month ago. Gets a half-furlong drop in trip for this contest and with Chantal Sutherland in the saddle looks capable of helping trainer Jorge Delgado improve on his 19% strike-rate (11/57) at this meeting.
12:29 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 2) – Savage Sailor 3/1
The switch to maiden claiming company appeared to suit the son of American Pharoah with the gelding registering a first on the board finish when beaten half-a-length into second in a mile event on the all-weather track here in early December. Duly broke his maiden at the fifth time of asking when taking a similar event by two-and-a-quarter-lengths here last month. Looks capable of completing a double with his jockey that day Tyler Gaffalione again booked to ride.
1:57 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 5) – My Prankster 2/1
A dual winner as a two-year-old Todd Pletcher’s charged delivered a couple of highly promising stakes efforts including when fourth in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park on just his second career start. A second in a minor stakes followed prior to a half-length triumph over six furlongs in an allowance optional claimer here in December. The extra distance here should prove no issue and he can make the perfect start to his three-year-old campaign.
3:33 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Radio Days 8/5
An expensive $750,000 purchase as a yearling back in 2020 the daughter of Gun Runner registered victories on both starts at two. The most recent of those triumphs came by a eight-and-a-half-lengths in a seven furlong allowance optional claimer at Aqueduct at the start of November. Has delivered a string of impressive works at the Payson Park Training Center in recent weeks and she is taken to maintain her unbeaten record with Dylan Davis booked to ride.
5:10 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 11) – Mo Donegal 5/2
The Uncle Mo colt has improved with each start following up a third place finish over six-and-one-half-furlongs in a maiden special weight at Belmont Park when debuting in September with a victory in a similar event over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at the same venue the following month. The selection ended his two-year-old campaign with a hard fought nose success in the mile-and-one-eighth Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct and he can complete a hat-trick dropping slightly in trip on his Florida debut.
