Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a $24,000 claiming contest which features a field of 7 going to post over a 6-furlong trip and one who can go well is the gelding in stall 6, Cupid’s Dart.
This son of Cupid was keeping on well when finishing 4th over 5 furlongs in this grade last time out, so with a similar effort he can hit the board at nice odds.
3:38 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Get Khozy 5/2 (2-star play)
Get Khozy has been knocking on the door in recent starts and this could be the time to catch Jose D’Angelo’s charge, who can strike on his first start in maiden optional claiming company.
He has clocked form figures of 7543 since making his debut last August, so he is gradually improving and should find this task much easier than the maiden special weights he has been campaigned in so far.
4:07 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Bletchley Girl 5/1 (1-star play)
A field of 7 goes to post for the penultimate race at Gulfstream Park in which a case can be made for most of the field but none more so than Bletchley Girl, who was a comfortable winner over course and distance last month.
She had to come 7 wide at one point but drew clear in the stretch to win by 2 3/4 lengths under Edgar Perez, who takes the ride again, so it would not surprise should she take this.
4:36 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Baby Steps 5/1 (1-star play)
The finale is a competitive allowance optional claimer over 5 furlongs on the turf with 3-time course winner Fulminate likely to go off favourite, but I like the chances of Baby Steps, who is drawn next to her and has enough ability to win this.
Chantal Sutherland’s mount is having her first start since last November but her most recent workout was impressive and she could get a lovely tow into the race from stall 10.
