3:08 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Man On The Moon 7/5 (2-star play)
Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a seven furlong Claiming contest for older horses and the one I like here is the gelding in the outside post, Man On The Moon, who impressed in a recent workout at Palm Meadows Training Centre.
Irad Ortiz Jr’s mount is a three-time winner in this grade, one of which was over course and distance, so if he puts his best foot forward then he should win.
3:38 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Stat 6/1 (1-star play)
Saffie Joseph Jr’s Stat is an improving son of Will Take Charge who has won two of his last four starts and comes into this $86,000 Allowance Optional Claimer with every chance.
His speed figures have been gradually increasing in recent starts and he is to be taken seriously given the way he bruised aside his rivals by two and a half lengths at this level back in November.
4:07 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Kitty Quick 3/1 (2-star play)
The penultimate event at Gulfstream Park features a small but competitive field of seven three-year-old fillies who go to post for five furlong Allowance honours and I like the chances of Kitty Quick who is using Lasix for the first time.
This is a promising filly. She has won two of her four starts here and has been given a nice draw in three from which she can stalk the pace before kicking on in the stretch under Irad Ortiz Jr.
4:36 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Love Miami Love 7/2 (2-star play)
Race 9 is an open looking Maiden Claimer over a mile trip on the turf surface in which a case can be made for many in this field but none more so than Love Mami Love who has notched up form figures of 224 since the turn of the year.
She represents powerful connections and It’s only a matter of time before she breaks her maiden tag as she only went down by a nose on her penultimate outing over course and distance.
