3:08 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – A Rose For Raven 12/1 (1-star play)
Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a Claiming contest over a mile on the turf and one I like is A Rose For Raven, who won in this grade last November and will find this task easier having been running in Allowance Optional Claiming company.
On his best form, Kerri Raven’s gelding is good enough to have a say in this and I fancy him to outrun his double figures odds.
3:38 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Snow Princess 4/1 (2-star play)
There’s some nice debutantes going to post in this six furlong Maiden Special Weight and my attention is turned to Bill Mott’s charge, Snow Princess, who has shown sharpness from the gates in recent workouts and is worth keeping a close eye on.
She’s a daughter of Quality Road who was a multiple graded stakes winner at this course and Snow Princess has the capable services of Joel Rosario on board.
4:07 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Ticking 7/2 (2-star play)
A field of eight three-year-old males are set to go to post for this $86,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event over seven furlongs on the dirt course and Ticking, who was an impressive winner over course and distance last time, is taking to strike for Edward Piesa Jr and his team.
He won that Maiden Optional Claimer by an impressive six and a quarter lengths whilst giving the impression that there is much to come so I wouldn’t want to be opposing him just yet.
4:36 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Lakeside Getaway 12/1 (1-star play)
The finale is an open looking Maiden Special Weight for three-year-old fillies in which a case can be made for a fair few in this field but none more so than Lakeside Getaway who can hit the board at a price.
Paco Lopez’s mount has been steadily improving with each start and and comes into this off the back of a convincing three furlong breeze here just last week.
