2:38 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Marilyn 9/2 (1-star play)
Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a Maiden Optional Claimer over an extended five furlongs on the all-weather surface, and the filly I like here is Marilyn who has shown enough ability to win at this level.
Juan Alvarado’s four-year-old has had four starts on this surface with her best effort being a second placed finish over five furlongs and it’s only a matter of time before she gets her head in front from a good draw in stall two.
3:07 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Bedtime Story 6/1 (1-star play)
Bedtime Story is a very promising daughter of Bee Jersey who is unbeaten in two starts and comes into this Allowance Optional Claiming event with the use of first time lasix and a huge amount of potential.
Javier Castellano’s mount won both of those at this course, albeit over a sixteenth further than this five furlong trip, but she has shown enough speed to be able to cope with this and she looks the value play here.
3:36 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Dr Oseran 4/1 (2-star play)
The penultimate contest at Gulfstream Park is a competitive $86,000 Allowance Optional Claimer which is being run over five furlongs on the turf course and one who can go well is Christophe Clement’s colt is stall eight, Dr Oseran, who showed a determined attitude to break his maiden at the back end of last year.
Having finished second on debut at Belmont Park he scored on his second start whilst giving the impression that he could be pretty useful so he is well worth keeping an eye on.
4:05 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Famous Gent 5/1 (1-star play)
A field of nine older horses go to post for the finale which is a Claimer over a sprint trip on the all-weather in which a case can be made for a few at the top of the market but none more so than Famous Gent who has won in this grade.
He won a Claimer and an Allowance here last season and will go close if his jockey Edgar Perez can get across and into a prominent position from the outside gate.
