Horse Racing on dirt at Santa Anita

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Thursday, including at Gulfstream Park. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +249.42 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Gulfstream Park race track.

2:39 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Tapit Brio 20/1 (1-star play)

Race 6 at Gulfstream Park features seven older horses going to post for a Claiming contest over an extended mile on the all-weather surface and a chance is taken on Tapit Brio who returns to the scene of his only triumph.

He broke his maiden in determined fashion over a mile here last May and has enough ability to go close in what is an open race on paper.

3:08 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Big Bee 10/1 (1-star play)

The David Fawkes trained Big Bee took six attempts to break her maiden but she did so in Maiden Optional Claiming company here just before Christmas and has shown enough in seven starts to be able to have a say in this $38,000 Claiming event.

Paco Lopez’s mount has also hit the board in competitive Maiden Special Weights and is by top sire Air Force Blue so it would not surprise should she go well at a price.

3:37 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Laniakea Storm 9/2 (1-star play)

A field of fifteen fillies and mares are set to do battle in this hotly contested Claimer on the turf and I like the chances of the filly in stall three, Laniakea Storm, who is a three-time winner at this course with two of those being in this grade.

Her last five form figures of 11132 have all been here at Gulfstream Park and if she runs to the level of her comfortable two and a half length win here last July then she can win this under Irad Ortiz Jr.

4:06 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Nate The Great 4/1 (2-star play)

The finale at Gulfstream Park is a Maiden Special Weight for three-year-old colts which features a mix of debutantes and horses who have had racecourse experience and that brings me to Nate The Great who can improve from his debut second here last month.

Saffie Joseph Jr’s son of West Coast had to come seven wide but showed a nice attitude to run all the way to the line on the debut run so with normal improvement he can go close with this step up in trip being sure to suit.
