Horse Racing picks for Gulfstream Park race track on Thursday, April 6: Sing Dixie can hit the right note

The field passes the finish line for the first time during the 67th running of the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Thursday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +285.02 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Gulfstream Park race track.

2:38 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 5) – Mousefast 5/1 (1-star play)

Race 5 at Gulfstream Park is a $19,000 Maiden Claiming event over 6 furlongs on the dirt and I like the chances of the gelding in stall 5, Mousefast, who has shown enough ability to have a big say in this.

This son of Field Commission was running on well when finishing 3rd over course and distance last time out, so if Angel Morales can get into a nice stalking position behind the leaders early on then they could strike late in the stretch.

3:08 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Omo Ten Girl 5/2 (2-star play)

A field of 7 3-year-old fillies goes to post for this extended 5-furlong Starter Optional Claimer in which the likely favourite Omo Ten Girl should take all the beating after a convincing victory over course and distance last time out.

She won that Maiden Claimer by an easy 4 lengths under a hand drive whilst giving the impression she had finally grasped the concept of how to race after 5 failed attempts to break her maiden. I wouldn’t want to be fading her just yet.

3:38 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Greatitude 3/1 (2-star play)

The penultimate contest at Gulfstream Park on Thursday is a competitive Allowance Optional Claimer for the female division in which a case can be made for most of the runners in the field, but none more so than Todd Pletcher’s Greatitude, who was last seen finishing 5th in the Grade 3 Forward Gal Stakes.

She was fancied for that race but it may have come too soon for her and she can go well off a layoff having impressed in a recent workout at the course.

4:07 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Sing Dixie 10/1 (1-star play)

Roger Attfield’s Sing Dixie is making his 3-year-old debut at Gulfstream Park after doing all of his racing at Woodbine as a 2-year-old, and if recent workouts are anything to go by he looks set to put in a big effort.

He was last seen finishing down the field in a stakes race last October, so he’ll appreciate this drop back into Maiden Claiming company, and I fancy him to at least hit the board at big odds from his inside draw.
