2:42 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 5) – Raison the Glass 5/1 (1-star play)

Race 5 at Gulfstream Park is a Claiming contest for the female division over a mile on the dirt surface and one who can go well is the mare drawn down on the rail, Raison the Glass, who won over course and distance back in January. Blake Kelly’s mare showed a determined attitude to take the spoils that day and she has some very good form in this grade around here so it would be disappointing should she not give a good account of herself here.

3:13 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Lord of War 5/2 (2-star play)

A field of 7 go to post for this Starter Allowance on the turf in which a case can be made for most of this field but none more so than Lord of War, who is still improving at five years of age. This son of Sky Mesa comes into this with form figures of 1323 in recent starts and will go very close if he runs up to the form of his latest third over course and distance in Allowance Optional Claiming company.

3:45 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – What’s Good 7/2 (1-star play)

The penultimate event at Gulfstream Park features some impeccably bred 3-year-old fillies, all of which are looking to break their maiden tag, and I like the chances of What’s Good who has shown enough in three starts to have a say in this. She tired late on when finishing fourth over a mile and an eighth here last time out, so this drop back to a mile will suit, and she could take some catching if Edgar Perez can get her out quickly from the outside post and into a prominent position early.

4:17 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – No Que No 12/1 (1-star play)

No Que No is a vastly experienced son of More Than Ready who is a multiple course winner and comes into this six furlong Allowance Optional Claimer in good form so he is one to keep on side in the finale. Angel Morales’s mount has been plying his trade in hotly contested Allowance Optional Claimers and stakes races for some time now and his jockey takes off a handy weight allowance so the double figures odds on offer here represent good value.
