3:11 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Wildcat Star 2/1 (2-star play)
Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a five-furlong Maiden Claiming contest for the female division which looks to be between Breaking Bullet and the selection Wildcat Star who has been knocking on the door and will get her head in front sooner rather than later.
Leonel Reyes’s mount has form figures of 2443 from her last four starts in this grade and recorded a solid workout at this course last month so now could be the time to catch her.
3:43 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Flag Woman 7/2 (1-star play)
A field of nine go to post for this extended five-furlong Claiming event with Moor Strength likely to go off favourite but I like the chances of the filly who uses first-time lasix, Flag Woman.
This daughter of Chitu showed a determined attitude to reel off back-to-back victories at Tampa Bay last season and she should go very well on her first start in Claiming company with the added use of Lasix which could bring about further improvement.
4:13 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Scottish Symphony 6/1 (1-star play)
Mark Casse’s Scottish Symphony is a lightly-raced daughter of Mendelssohn who I doubt we have seen the best of yet so she is one to keep on side in the penultimate race at Gulfstream Park.
Her sire was seen to best effect at a mile on the turf, which this is, and her latest seventh here can be forgotten as it was on the all-weather so she could be the value play from a good draw in gate three.
4:46 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Luscious Dancer 6/1 (1-star play)
The finale is a $21,000 Maiden Claimer over an extended five furlongs on the dirt and one who can go well is Luscious Dancer who was a rallying second over six furlongs here last time out.
He’s a nine-race maiden but showed signs that the penny is dropping with that latest effort so if Martin Ramos Ramirez can get across and into a prominent position from stall eight then they could take some stopping.
