4:37 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Just For Luck 9/2 (1-star play)
Race 9 at Gulfstream Park is a $84,000 Maiden Special Weight for three-year-olds over a mile and an eighth on the turf and I like the colt in stall seven, Just For Luck, who was a very respectable fifth on debut at Keeneland last October.
Jack Sisterson’s colt was staying on nicely over a mile on the debut run so this extra furlong will suit and I fancy him to go well under Luis Saez.
5:06 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Astroturf 6/1 (1-star play)
A field of ten older horses go to post for this mile Claiming event in which a case can be made for a fair few but none more so than Astroturf who is a two-time course winner and was second over course and distance last month.
Tyler Gaffalione’s mount won in this grade at the start of last season and is more than capable of putting up a bold bid from a good draw in post position two.
5:35 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 11) – Yes I Am Free 7/2 (2-star play)
The $100,000 Silks Run Stakes is a highly competitive affair with the Christophe Clement trained Big Invasion to be feared the most but I like the chances of Yes I Am Free who comes into this in red-hot form.
This evergreen seven-year-old has won the last two runnings of the Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint Stakes with the latest of those being just last month so I wouldn’t want to be taking him on in this kind of form.
6:05 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 12) – Sponger 8/1 (1-star play)
Joseph Orseno’s Sponger has been improving race by race with form figures of 6653 and this daughter of Rainbow Heir looks set to put up a bold bid at nice odds in the finale.
She was bumped at the start and had to come wide when finishing third in this Maiden Claiming grade last time so with a better run through this time around I can see her hitting finishing in the first two.
