Horse Racing picks for Gulfstream Park race track on Saturday, January 21: Say Adios Gary

Santa Anita Horse Racing on Turf

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Saturday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +227.62 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Gulfstream Park race track.

3:37 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Greystone 15/1 (1-star play)

Race 8 at Gulfstream Park features some impeccably bred three-year-olds who go to post for a Maiden Special Weight over an extended mile on the turf and one who can hit the board at a price is Roger Attfield’s Greystone.

This son of Will Take Charge was deemed good enough by connections to go straight into stakes company at Woodbine for his debut and he ran an outstanding race to finish fifth and wasn’t beaten that far so if he runs close to that level then he can have a say here.

4:06 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Candy Man Rocket 5/2 (2-star play)

William Mott’s Candy Man Rocket is two from two at Gulfstream Park, one of which was in this Allowance Optional Claiming grade, and he looks set to go well again under Junior Alvarado.

There’s no doubt this horse has plenty of ability but he has had his issues as he returns here after nearly a year off the track but he’s a grade 3 winner and has been pleasing in recent workouts so I expect him to win.

4:36 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Adios Gary 6/1 (1-star play)

A field of eleven older horses take to the stage for this $54,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event over a five furlong trip on the all-weather surface and I like the chances of the gelding in stall seven, Adios Gary, who has form figures of 232 from his last three starts.

Joseph Orseno’s gelding has won here and is improving with age so if Junior Alvarado can get across and into a prominent position from the gates then they could take some stopping.

5:06 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 11) – Dubby Dubbie 10/1 (1-star play)

The finale at Gulfstream Park is an open looking Claiming contest in which a case can be made for a fair few and a chance is taken on the oldest horse in this field, Dubby Duddie, who was a winner at Golden Gate the last time he was tried at this level.

He’s an eight-year-old with nine career victories and still has life in his legs yet as recent form has been good so if he puts his best foot forward he will be there at the finish under stalking tactics from jockey Paco Lopez.
