Horse Racing picks for Gulfstream Park race track on Saturday, January 14: Lead Performer leads the way

Horse racing at Belmont Park

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Saturday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +228.32 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Gulfstream Park race track.

3:37 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Big Data 6/1 (1-star play)

Race 8 at Gulfstream Park features some very well bred colts and geldings who go to post for an $84,000 Maiden Special Weight over a mile on the dirt and one who can go well here is Big Data who was second over course and distance last time out.

Michael Lerman’s colt was second over a sprint distance here on debut before that recent defeat over this trip and he only needs to improve a small amount to have a big say in this.

4:06 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Avow 4/1 (2-star play)

Todd Pletcher saddles a really nice daughter of Arrogate in the shape of Avow who goes in the Sunshine Filly & Mare Turf Stakes and I am expecting a good performance from this filly who has been drawn handily in stall two.

She won her first two races here before finishing second in Allowance Optional Claiming company last month whilst giving the impression there is so much potential there.

4:37 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Legend’s Can’t Die 3/1 (2-star play)

The penultimate event at Gulfstream Park is over six furlongs on the dirt and this is the $75,000 Sunshine Sprint Stakes for older horses and I like George Weaver’s Legends Can’t Die who will appreciate this drop back in trip.

He showed a determined attitude to hold off all his rivals on his latest start over seven furlongs here where he was just caught late on so with a similar effort over this distance he can take the victory.

5:06 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 11) – Lead Performer 8/1 (1-star play)

A field of fourteen three-year-old fillies line up for this Maiden Claiming grade which is the finale on the card at Gulfstream Park and a case can be made for a fair few in this field but none more so than Lead Performer who can hit the board at a nice price.

Edwin Gonzalez’s mount was well fancied on debut at Belterra Park but finished fifth and she has yet to hit the board in two starts since but it can pay to be patient with her as she must be doing something at home as recent workouts have been good.
