Horse Racing picks for Gulfstream Park race track on Saturday, December 31: Easy task for Simplification

The field passes the finish line for the first time during the 67th running of the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Saturday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are +212.22 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Gulfstream Park race track.

3:41 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Pappacap 4/1 (2-star play)

Race 8 at Gulfstream Park is the $125,000 Grade 3 Mr. Prospector Stakes which is run over a 7-furlong trip on the dirt surface and I like the chances of the Gun Runner colt in stall 4, Pappacap, who has been hitting the board at a higher level this campaign.

Mark Casse’s 3-year-old won his maiden at Gulfstream Park and if he runs close to his best form — which has seen him placed at Grade 1 level — he should win this.

4:10 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Tango Tango Tango 20/1 (1-star play)

Jack Sisterson’s Tango Tango Tango has yet to show us his full potential and he looks to have been overlooked in the Grade 2 Ft. Lauderdale Stakes, which is Race 9 on the card.

Colonel Liam will no doubt be hard to beat, but there should be more to come from this colt, who can hit the board at a big price if he runs to the level of his Grade 2 2nd at Pimlico in May.

4:40 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Simplification 5/1 (2-star play)

The penultimate contest at Gulfstream Park is the hotly contested $150,000 Grade 3 Harlan’s Holiday Stakes which has been won by some really nice types in its history and this year’s renewal can go to Simplification, who contested the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile last time out.

This son of Not This Time is a 3-time course winner who finished 4th in the Kentucky Derby in May, so he is more than capable of taking the win at his favourite course.

5:09 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 11) – Insatiable 8/1 (1-star play)

A field of 11 goes to post for the finale, which is an allowance optional claiming event over a mile 1/16th on the turf and one who can go well is Todd Pletcher’s Insatiable, who is improving nicely.

Since winning on debut at Monmouth Park in May her speed figures have been coming along well, albeit without winning, but it’s only a matter of time before she visits the winner’s circle again and this looks like a good opportunity for her to do that.
