Horse Racing picks for Gulfstream Park race track on Saturday, December 10: Cadet Corps should pass muster

Jockey Leslie Mawing atop Highwaytwentyseven (5) wins the second race of the day as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Saturday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are +212.62 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Gulfstream Park race track.

3:08 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Mercury Head 2/1 (2-star play)

Race 7 at Gulfstream Park is a 5-furlong claiming contest for the female division on the all-weather track and this can go to Mercury Head, who has been putting in improved performances of late.

Kelly Breen’s filly won in this grade at Monmouth Park in July and recent speed figures in defeat in allowance company suggest that she is improving, so all looks set for a big effort.

3:38 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Personal Pursuit 7/2 (2-star play)

The $75,000 Wait A While Stakes is a hotly contested affair for 2-year-old fillies over an extended 7-furlong trip in which a case can be made for a fair few, but none more so than Personal Pursuit, who should find this extra distance to her liking.

After an impressive maiden win at Aqueduct connections then pitched her into a Grade 3 at the same course but everything seemed to happen too quickly for her when finishing 5th over 6 furlongs, so this extra 3/16th should be ideal.

4:09 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Momza 4/1 (2-star play)

A field of 11 older horses go to post for this starter optional claiming event which looks to be fairly open on paper, so course form could prove vital and with that in mind it can pay to side with Momza, who has won 2 of his last 3 starts at Gulfstream Park and seems to be improving as he gets older.

Both of those victories were on this all-weather surface and he is drawn in a lovely spot in stall 5 with the capable Jose Ortiz taking the ride.

4:39 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Cadet Corps 8/1 (1-star play)

Elizabeth Doble’s Cadet Corps is a 4-time winner at Gulfstream Park and this son of Will Take Charge looks to have a fantastic chance of winning for the 5th time in the finale.

Tyler Gaffalione’s mount has 2 wins in this grade, with his last-time-out victory being a comfortable one by 3 1/2  lengths and I like his credentials.
