There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, and our picks are up 242.15 units dating back to last August. On Wednesday we picked 2 winners in 4 races for a profit of 9 units, including one 8/1 longshot success. Thursday brought a 2/1 winner out of 3 races.
Here are 4 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.
4:08 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Greg’s Honor 6/1
Race 7 at Gulfstream Park is a $60,000 Maiden Special Weight over a mile and a sixteenth on the all-weather track and this one can go to the gelding in stall one, Greg’s Honor, who was a good second over course and distance in his debut last month and can go one better here. Mark Hennig’s son of Nyquist showed a good level of ability in that debut outing and now that he has that experience under his belt it will take a good performance to stop him from winning.
4:40 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Quick Tempo 9/5
A field of six are set to line up in Race 8 at Gulfstream Park which is a $62,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event over six furlongs on the dirt and Quick Tempo will take some beating. The gelding is an Allowance and a Black Type winner and he is much better than he showed last time out when finishing fifth in a similar contest at this track, so I’m expecting a much better showing this time around.
5:12 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Canelito 3/1
The penultimate race at Gulfstream Park is a $34,000 Starter Optional Claimer for three-year-olds and this is an open race with preference for Luis Saez’s mount Canelito, who won on his first start here last time out and is starting to get the hang of things as he gains experience. His first two starts resulted in ninth and fourth-place finishes at Woodbine before that win here, so there should be even more improvement to come. I like his chances.
5:44 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Mr Mac Quhae 9/2
Mohammed Moubarak’s Mr Mac Quhae has finished second on four consecutive occasions at Gulfstream Park and it’s only a matter of time before he gets his head in front and he can win this $35,000 Maiden Claiming contest which is the 10th and final race on the card. His speed figures have been improving race upon race and Luis Saez has plenty of options from stall five so all looks set for a winning performance from this likeable gelding.
