Horse Racing picks for Gulfstream Park race track on Friday, March 18: Don't mess with Law Of The Land

John Velazquez (8) aboard Audible trained by Todd Pletcher

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We had winners at 9/2, 3/1 and 3/1 on Wednesday before nailing a 2/1 success on Thursday, giving us 12 winners in the last 18 races. Our hot streak actually dates back all the way to August 5, up 290.65 units. Since March 2 we have turned a profit of 57.5 units.

Here are 4 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.

3:35 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Frankie’s Girl 7/2

Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a $28,000 Claiming contest over an extended seven furlongs on the turf and I like the chances of Luis Saez’s mount Frankie’s Girl who has plenty of course experience and has won twice here in the past. One of those wins was over this course and distance and she remains in good form so I see no reason why she can’t put up a bold showing here.

4:09 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Mayor Remo 6/1

A field of eight are set to line up for this $24,000 Claimer for the male division over an extended mile on the all-weather track in which a case can be made for a few but none more so than Mayor Remo who has everything going for him. This son of Treasure Beach was second in this grade a few weeks ago and has more than enough ability to win this so with a similar effort he’ll go very close.

4:44 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Join The Dots 6/5

The penultimate race at Gulfstream Park is a $61,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event over a mile on the dirt and the unexposed Join The Dots is the one they all have to beat. She was a good winner of a decent Maiden Special Weight at Belmont Park in October before finishing third over this course and distance last time out and there should be plenty more improvement to come from her.

5:16 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Law Of The Land 4/1

Jane Cibelli’s Law Of The Land has lots of ability and has finished in the frame on a couple of occasions at this course so he can make a bold bid for glory in this $36,000 Claiming contest. He’s got a good draw in stall three and has the capable services of Jose Ortiz on board so there’s plenty going for him in the finale.
