3:05 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Brody’s Causeway 9/2
Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a $28,000 Claiming contest over an extended five furlongs on the all-weather track and this one can go to the horse in stall eight, Brody’s Causeway, who broke her maiden tag in good style last time out and can follow that up here. That victory came over half a furlong shorter than this distance but she was an easy winner so after getting that elusive first victory her confidence will be sky high and that is the reason I believe she can win again.
3:37 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Leviosa 8/5
Saffie Joseph Jr’s Leviosa is a filly on the up after reeling off back-to-back victories here at Gulfstream Park and she can make that a hat-trick of wins in this $39,000 Starter Optional Claiming event over five furlongs on the dirt. Both of those wins came in Maiden Claiming and Starter Optional Claiming company respectively, one of which was an impressive win over this distance, and I don’t see anything in here that can beat her.
4:11 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Systematic 3/1
The penultimate race at Gulfstream Park is a $36,000 Claimer over a mile and a sixteenth on the turf and I like Systematic who finished fourth in a similar contest on her latest start but that was her first run for over six months so a good amount of improvement can be expected. She is a winner here having broken her maiden tag back in April of last year and I don’t think we have seen the best of this filly yet so a big run looks likely from stall eight.
4:42 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – On The Couch 4/1
A field of fourteen are set to go to post for this competitive $24,000 Claiming event over an extended mile on the all-weather track and this can go to the horse drawn down on the inside in stall two, On The Couch, who has been notching up some good speed figures in his recent starts and has enough ability to win this. He finished fourth over this course and distance last time out but didn’t get the best run of the race as he had to come wider than ideal but hopefully things will work out better this time around.
