12:14 pm Ellis Park (Race 2) – Ten Count 6/5 (3-star play)

Purchased for $10,000 at Ocala last year the gelding showed ability when suffering a nose defeat in a maiden special weight over a mile at Hawthorne when making his debut in September last year. The pick has made just the one start since that effort, breaking his maiden by a length when contesting similar event over the same track and trip at the end of June. Brittany A Vanden Berg’s three-year-old tackles winners looks capable of following up here.

12:43 pm Ellis Park (Race 3) – Bolt Above 9/5 (2-star play)

The son of Bolt d’Oro broke his maiden when taking a $30,000 maiden claiming contest by one-and-three-quarter-lengths at Oaklawn Park in early January. Trained by Cipriano Contreras the selection has delivered some good efforts in defeat since including when fourth in a six furlong allowance at Indiana Downs earlier this month. Looks capable of doubling his career tally dropping to a $20,000 beaten claiming event with his jockey from that Oaklawn Park success Franciso Arrieta taking the ride.

2:50 pm Ellis Park (Race 7) – Lemon Bomb 5/2 (2-star play)

Trained by Eddie Kenneally the filly showed ability on both starts for her previous handler finishing on the board on each occasion including when twelve-and-three-quarter-lengths third over six furlongs on a sloppy track at Churchill Downs last October. The Army Mule filly registered a career best figure in suffering a neck defeat over this course and distance when returned to turf last month. The three-year-old came within a neck of victory that day and looks up to going one better.
