There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Saturday, including at Del Mar race track. We have been in form with our picks for a long time and have made a profit of +300.6 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!
Here are our best bets for today’s action at Del Mar.
6:44 pm Del Mar (Race 6) – Fort Bragg 2/1 (2-star play)
The two-year-old son of Tapit was an expensive yearling purchase at $700,000 at the Fasig-Tipton October sale last year. He has shown good form in the mornings in the run up to this contest including when delivering a 59.40 five furlong work at this venue earlier this month, and with the powerful Bob Baffert barn boasting an impressive 27% strike-rate (17/64) at this meeting, the bay colt is taken to get off the mark at the first time of asking.
7:18 pm Del Mar (Race 7) – Havana Angel 5/2 (2-star play)
She showed good form when trained in Europe including when delivering a nine length victory in a soft ground five-and-one-half-furlong contest at Dieppe in June. She subsequently finished third in the Group 3 Prix du Bois over six furlongs at Chantilly 12 days later. She cost connections just over $335,000 at the sales in July, and stepping up in distance she is taken to register a victory with Juan Hernandez up for her first racecourse outing for new trainer Leonard Powell.
7:48 pm Del Mar (Race 8) – Home Cooking 9/5 (2-star play)
She demonstrated plenty of promise when making her debut in a five-and-one-half-furlong maiden special weight contest at this venue at the end of July. She delivered a three lengths third on that occasion and while she had her rival here Kissed By Fire on place in front of her that day the daughter of Honor Code showed improvement when drawing nine-and-a-quarter-lengths clear of her rivals in a similar event over six furlongs here subsequently. She’s taken to follow up stepping up in distance.
8:18 pm Del Mar (Race 9) – Going Global 4/5 (3-star play)
She’s the winner of four of her last six starts, the daughter of Mehmas impressed when drawing three lengths clear of her rivals in the Grade 3 Yellow Ribbon Handicap over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at this venue last month. She saw off her rival here, Avenue de France, among others that day and heading into this event on the back of a 1:02.40 work here earlier this month she is taken to provide trainer Philip D’Amato with a Grade 2 triumph.
9:18 pm Del Mar (Race 11) – Kitty Kitana 5/2 (2-star play)
She finished on the board on all four previous starts including when runner-up over seven furlongs at Dundalk in Ireland on her sole start at two. She’s making her first start at this venue when ahead second in a mile maiden special weight early last month. Had previously placed one-and-a-half-lengths third in the Grade 3 Sweet Life Stakes over six-and-one-half-furlongs at Santa Anita. Has a top jockey up in Flavien Prat and can get off the mark at the fifth attempt.
