3:18 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 6) – Navratilova 7/5 (2-star play)
Navratilova attempted to make all prior to fading into 5th when beaten 8 lengths in the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley Stakes over a mile and 1/16th at Keeneland in April.
The drop down in grade is a positive for George R Arnold II’s charge and given she was a Grade 3 winner at that venue as recently as October last year, she looks up to taking this following a 1:01.80 work over 5 furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs this month.
3:50 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 7) – Quick Munny 5/2 (2-star play)
A change of tactics to racing from off the pace appeared not to work when Quick Munny finished down the field in a maiden special weight at Oaklawn Park in April. She dropped to a maiden claimer for the first time when tackling a $50,000 contest over 6 furlongs at Churchill Downs early last month and made all to deliver a 3 1/4 length victory.
Ricardo Santana Jr retains the ride and he is taken to partner the daughter of Munnings to victory in this starter allowance contest.
4:22 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 8) – B Dawk Evens (3-star play)
B Dawk built on a string of promising maiden special weight efforts when breaking his maiden by a wide margin in a 7-furlong contest at Keeneland in April. He subsequently proved he can be competitive at a higher level when runner-up in a stakes contest over a mile and 1/16th at Pimlico last month.
He gets a drop in grade today and, receiving weight from his older rivals, he is taken to help jockey Tyler Gaffalione improve on his 22% strike-rate (37/167) at this meeting.
