A field of 6 is set to go to post for this maiden special weight and I like the chances of Glenn Wismer’s Harbour Bridge. This son of Justify has been knocking on the door since making his debut in March and if he runs close to his 2nd-place finish at this track in June he should have a say in the finish.
7:25 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 6) – Go Cats 4/1 (2-star play)
Race 6 is an open-looking maiden claiming event taking place over a 9-furlong trip on the dirt course and Go Cats, who was last seen finishing down the field on the turf at Kentucky Downs, can leave that run well behind back on the dirt.
He is a 5-race maiden but has shown promise in a couple of his races so it would not surprise should he go well over a trip and track that should be more to his liking.
7:54 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 7) – King Fury 4/1 (2-star play)
Kenneth McPeek’s King Fury is a 3-time winner at Churchill Downs and he could be about to make that 4 in this valuable allowance optional claiming event.
Two of those wins have been stakes races and Corey Lanerie’s mount will appreciate dropping down in grade having been contesting competitive stakes races for the last two seasons.
8:23 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 8) – Swore 2/1 (2-star play)
The finale looks to be between Swore, Clever Thought and Hilliard, with the Graham Motion-trained Swore taken to come out on top.
He is likely to be a popular pick in this allowance race and it is clear to see why after his easy 4-length win in a maiden special weight at Kentucky Downs and he looks to be an exciting colt.
