Big Dreaming registered his 5th victory when taking an allowance optional claimer on a fast main track at Turfway Park at the start of December. He delivered a solid effort in a stakes race at Fair Grounds later that month prior to a below-par 4th when leaving the track in the van over a mile and 1/16th back at Turfway Park in February.
Returning to turf is no issue and following some solid work he looks up to registering a victory as he drops into allowance company.
6:56 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 5) – Little Mombo 4/5 (3-star play)
A $500,000 yearling purchase last September, Little Mombo has demonstrated plenty of ability in 4 starts over 6 furlongs at Oaklawn Park, including when 3 1/4 lengths 3rd to 2 subsequent winners in a maiden special weight last month.
He sets the standard on form and coming into this event after a 37.80 3-furlong work at this track last weekend, the son of Into Mischief looks capable of recording a win at the 5th time of asking.
7:25 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 6) – Frills 9/5 (2-star play)
Frills has won 4 of her 5 starts since being claimed by her current connections for $20,000 after winning a claimer over 6 furlongs on a sloppy at Saratoga in September last year. She completed a hat-trick of starter event victories when triumphing by 1 1/4 lengths over 6 1/2 furlongs at Churchill Downs at the end of last month.
She boasts a good record at this track and looks up to registering a 3rd win in 4 starts there with Tyler Gaffalione booked for the ride.
