The winner of 5 of his 8 previous starts, the son of Noble Mission completed a hat-trick of stakes victories when making all the running to win by 2 3/4 lengths in the Listed Woodstock Stakes over 6 furlongs on a synthetic surface at Woodbine at the start of last month.
He had previously delivered a couple of stakes victories at Turfway Park and can make a winning return to turf with the trip having been the issue in his previous turf starts.
2:13 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 4) – Isthmian 5/2 (2-star play)
Isthmian proved that he can be competitive at this level when delivering a first on-the-board effort in finishing runner-up over a mile and 1 1/16th at Churchill Downs last month. A change of tactics appeared to suit on that occasion and he is tackling the same trip today.
The son of Violence looks capable of getting off the mark at the 8th time of asking with jockey Ricardo Santana Jr, on board last time out, looking to improve on his 20% strike-rate (15/76) at this meeting.
3:50 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 7) – Caddo River 8/5 (2-star play)
The 4-year-old son of Hard Spun delivered an impressive5 3/4 length victory in a mile and 1/16th allowance optional claimer at Oaklawn Park in March and completed a double when taking a similar contest at the same venue at the start of last month.
He won his only previous start at this venue and looks capable of delivering a 5th career win with jockey Ricard Santana Jr., who has been in the saddle for the colt’s last 3 starts, booked to ride once more.
