3:38 pm Belmont Park (Race 2) – Rough Tough Love 9/5 (2-star play)
Off the mark at the third time of asking when making all to win by one-and-three-quarter-lengths in a $40,000 maiden claiming race over six furlongs on a sloppy track at Parx in April. Put a subsequent disappointment at Laurel behind her when finishing one-and-three-quarter-lengths clear of her five rivals in a $25,000 claimer over six furlongs here just over a month ago. Dylan Davis rides once more and she is taken to complete a double down slightly in grade.
5:13 pm Belmont Park (Race 5) – Marvelous Maude 6/5 (2-star play)
A dual winner from six starts the daughter of Slumber has finished on the board in both outings since winning an allowance over a mile-and-one-sixteenth here last October. Made a pleasing return this campaign when one-and-a-quarter-lengths this over the same track and trip on a turf track described as good. Shapes as if the extra sixteenth here will suit and with Irad Ortiz up looks capable of scoring here following a 48.87 four furlong breeze on dirt at Saratoga.
5:43 pm Belmont Park (Race 6) – Brilliant Brooks 5/2 (2-star play)
Showed fair form at stakes level when finishing fourth in the six-and-one-half-furlong Peeping Tom at Aqueduct back in March. Made just the one appearance since with that resulting in a one-and-three-quarter-length success in a six furlong starter contest here last month. Has defied wide draws in the past and looks up to delivering a victory under Manny Franco and in the process help handler Horacio De Paz improve on his impressive 28% strike-rate (8/29) at this meeting.
