4:09 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 3) – Devil’s Outlaw 9/4 (3-star play)
Devil’s Outlaw registered a string of on-the-board finishes in maiden special weight races on synthetics in Ireland, and overcame a slow start to make a winning US debut when scoring by a length and a quarter in a maiden special weight over an extended seven furlongs on turf at the start of last month. He has Irad Ortiz Jr. in the saddle once more and looks capable of helping trainer Chad Brown improve on his impressive 30% strike rate (24/55) at this meeting.
5:43 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 6) – Microphone 6/5 (3-star play)
Microphone made a winning debut when taking a maiden special weight over a mile by four lengths at Tampa Bay Downs back in January, and put in a strong showing when registering a triple-digit speed figure in finishing runner-up in an allowance optional claimer over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at Gulfstream Park the following month. Slightly disappointing fifth at Aqueduct on his New York debut in April and looks capable of making amends with Flavien Prat booked to ride.
6:15 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 7) – Shalimar Gardens 4/7 (3-star play)
Shalimar Gardens delivered an impressive five-and-three-quarter-length victory when racing close to the pace in an allowance event over a mile at Aqueduct on her penultimate start. Acquitted herself well when fourth in a minor stakes contest over the same trip at Laurel subsequently. Has a good jockey up in Jose Ortiz and Horacio De Paz’s charge looks capable of returning to winning ways on her first start at this venue since taking a mile maiden special weight by eleven-and-three-quarter-lengths here last September.
