An expensive $875,000 purchase as a yearling at the Keeneland September Sale in 2020, this son of Uncle Mo demonstrated plenty of ability when finishing a good 3/4 length second in a 6 1/2 furlong maiden special weight at Keeneland in his debut last month.
Bred to appreciate this step up in distance, the colt is selected to deliver a victory this time, enhancing his trainer Chad Brown’s impressive 37% strike-rate (11/30) at this meeting.
3:34 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 6) – Dr Ardito 2/1 (2-star play)
Dr Ardito has demonstrated good form in all 4 starts to date, including when completing a hat-trick in delivering his first triple-digit speed figure when scoring by 3 lengths in an allowance optional claimer over a mile on a muddy main track at Aqueduct at the start of last month.
He has a good draw in 3 and is heading into this race following a solid 48.76 4-furlong breeze at the track earlier this month. He can complete a four-timer.
4:40 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 8) – Senbei 5/2 (2-star play)
Senbei has proved himself at stakes level, winning 3 of his last 5 starts, including by a wide margin when 8 1/4 lengths clear of his rivals in the Notebook Stakes, a race restricted to New York-breds and held over this trip at Aqueduct in November.
He has been off the track since, but represents a stable with a 28% strike-rate (5/18) at this meeting and is taken to provide regular jockey Manny Franco with a winner following a 1:02.12 5-furlong breeze recently.
