We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now, and yesterday’s 2 wins from 4 picks means were are up +291.90 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!
We also have a great Belmont Stakes race guide featuring comments on every runner in the field.
Here are our best bets for today’s top-class racing at Belmont Park.
1:08 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 4, Just A Game Stakes) – Speak Of The Devil Evens (3-star play)
A useful performer at the top level in Europe, including when a head 3rd in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville last August, this Wootton Bassett filly made the perfect start to her career with trainer Chad Brown when winning the Grade 2 Churchill Distaff Turf Mile Stakes at Churchill Downs last month.
She had both In Italian and Wakanaka behind her that day and the 4-year-old looks capable of completing a double with Flavien Prat booked to ride.
2:22 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 6, Woody Stephens Stakes) – Jack Christopher 1/2 (3-star play)
A Grade 1 winner as a 2-year-old when taking the Champagne Stakes by 2 3/4 lengths over a mile at Belmont in October last year, Jack Christopher made the perfect start to his 3-year-old campaign when winning by 3 3/4 lengths from Pappacap in the Grade 2 Pat Day Mile at Churchill Downs last month.
The drop in trip today should prove no issue and he is taken to maintain his unbeaten record following a 48.10 4-furlong breeze at Belmont on June 4.
4:43 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 9, Metropolitan Handicap) – Flightline 3/5 (3-star play)
Unbeaten in 3 starts last year, the son of Tapit followed up a 12 3/4 length victory in a 6-furlong allowance optional claimer at Del Mar in September with an 11 1/2 length success in the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita in December.
He has shown good form in the mornings of late and with the step up in distance unlikely to inconvenience him he is taken to make a winning seasonal debut on his first start outside of California.
5:38 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 10, Manhattan Stakes) – Santin 7/2 (2-star play)
Santin is lightly-raced, having made his debut when scoring at Indiana Downs last September, but he proved he is up to competing at this level when 3rd in the Hollywood Derby at Del Mar in November on just his third career start.
He recorded a first Grade 1 success when battling to a neck victory in the Turf Classic over a mile and 1/8th at Churchill Downs last month. The extra furlong today looks likely to suit and he is taken to complete a double.
6:44 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 11, Belmont Stakes) – Mo Donegal 5/2 (2-star play)
Mo Donegal performed well when staying on to take the Grade 2 Wood Memorial by a neck over a mile and 1/8th at Aqueduct in his Kentucky Derby prep in April. He caught the eye when finishing 5th in the big one itself at Churchill Downs the following month.
He usually races from off the pace and has shaped as if a step up in trip would suit in recent starts. He is taken to score for a trainer who knows what it takes to win this race. Full guide to all 8 runners and Ron Wood’s verdict here.
