Here are our best bets for today’s action at Belmont Park
3:34 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 6) – Stone Creator 6/5 (2-star play)
Race 6 at Belmont Park is a $80,000 allowance contest for the female division over a mile on the dirt and Charlton Baker’s Stone Creator should be winning this.
This daughter of Creative Cause has form figures of 1222 since she made her debut, with two of those runs being in competitive stakes races, so if she puts her best foot forward, she has a great chance.
4:08 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 7) – Giramonte 6/1 (1-star play)
Giramonte is a tough and hardy gelding who comes into Race 7 at Belmont Park after a 5-month break which should have done him the world of good. He is the one to side with in this $50,000 claiming event.
When he was last seen at this track in October last year he won a maiden claiming race with any amount in hand before showing the effects of a long season after that. If he turns up in the same mood as that win then he should go well.
4:40 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 8) – Eloquent Speaker 6/1 (1-star play)
A field of 7 is set to go to post for Race 8 at Belmont Park, a $94,000 allowance optional claimer over 6 furlongs on the dirt. The mare in stall 2, Eloquent Speaker, can win this for Mark Casse and his team.
She won her maiden at this track and is a 2-time winner in this grade, so it all points towards a big effort, especially from that good inside draw.
5:12 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 9) – Tempermental 7/2 (2-star play)
The finale at Belmont Park is one for the female division which features a large field and it is an open race, with preference for Tempermental, who has yet to win but looks to have enough ability to take this $45,000 maiden claiming contest.
Her latest 2nd at Aqueduct, where she was closing all the way to the line, bodes well coming into this and Jose Ortiz keeps the ride having ridden her on that outing.
