Horse Racing picks for Belmont at the Big A on Sunday, September 25: Count on Kimari

2:30 pm ET Belmont at Aqueduct (Race 4) – Miss Alacrity 5/2 (2-star play)

Miss Alacrity howed that she can compete in stakes company when winning on a firm turf course at Monmouth Park in August last year. She has delivered a number of solid efforts in defeat since, including when runner-up, beaten 2 lengths on the main track in an allowance event over this trip at Saratoga early last month.

She advertised her wellbeing with a 1:02.60 5-furlong work at Keeneland recently and is selected to register a victory with John Velazquez booked to ride. 

4:48 pm ET Belmont at Aqueduct (Race 8) – Crowding Out 3/1 (2-star play)

Crowding Out showed ability in 3 starts as a 3-year-old and went on to break her maiden by a nose over 5 1/2 furlongs at Saratoga in her seasonal debut in July.

She put a below-par effort there subsequently behind her when racing close to the speed prior to winning by 2 1/2 lengths in a $35,000 claiming contest over the same course and distance on a good turf course earlier this month. Take her to make a winning debut for Kelly Breen having been claimed following that success. 

5:18 pm ET Belmont at Aqueduct (Race 9) – Kimari 4/5 (3-star play)

Kimari registered an 8th career win when triumphing by half a length in the 6-furlong Grade 2 Honorable Miss Handicap at Saratoga at the end of July. She had previously come home a fair 5-length 5th in the Grade 1 Derby City Distaff Stakes over 7 furlongs at Churchill Downs in May.

Versatile with regards to tactics, the daughter of Munnings is selected to score with jockey Joel Rosario looking to improve on his 29% strike-rate (2/7) at this meeting.
