There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Sunday, including at Belmont at the Big A (Aqueduct race track, moved from Belmont). We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +175.85 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!
Here are our best bets for today’s action at Belmont at the Big A.
12:05 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 1) – Dusk 5/2 (2-star play)
The daughter of Bolt d’Oro fetched $140,000 when sold at the Ocala March Two-Year-Old sale earlier this year and she showed promise when making her debut in a five-and-a-half-furlong maiden special weight at Saratoga just over a month ago. The filly was beaten eight-and-a-half-lengths into fourth that day after stumbling at the start and she looks capable of breaking her maiden with the slight step up in trip expected to suit Horacio De Paz’s filly on turf debut.
1:09 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 3) – Cody’s Wish 1/5 (3-star play)
While the five-year-old suffered a shock defeat when only third in the Grade 1 Whitney Stakes at Saratoga early last month it’s of note that that defeat came over a mile-and-one-eighth. The son of Curlin had won six consecutive starts prior to that including four times at the highest level. Regular pilot Junior Alvarado is in the saddle and back down in trip his mount looks capable of returning to winning ways on his first start at this venue.
2:09 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 5) – Caramel Swirl 1/1 (2-star play)
The mare delivered a Grade 3 victory in the six-and-a-half-furlong Vagrancy at Belmont Park in May and while she’s had just two starts since she has acquitted herself well on each occasion including when fading when delivering a fourth place finish on a muddy track in the seven furlong Grade 1 Ballerina at Saratoga last month. The mare comes here on the back of a 49.25 four furlong breeze at Saratoga and is taken to register her sixth win.
2:40 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 6) – Rebel’s Romance 9/5 (2-star play)
The winner of the mile-and-a-half Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keeneland in November last year the Dubawi gelding has had just the two starts this time around. The second of those saw the five-year-old clip heels in the Grade 2 Bowling Green at Saratoga at the end of July. Charlie Appleby’s gelding boasts a strong five wins from six starts over this trip and he looks capable of delivering a victory here with William Buick booked to ride.
3:11 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 7) – Charge It 7/2 (2-star play)
The four-year-old colt impressed when delivering a four-and-three-quarter-length victory in the mile-and-a-quarter Grade 2 Suburban Stakes at Belmont Park in July. Trained by Todd Pletcher the pick followed that triumph up with a fourth in the Grade 1 Whitney Stakes over this trip at Saratoga early last month and while he had Zandon in front of him that day he looks capable of reversing that form following four timed breezes over four furlongs at Saratoga this month.
