Horse Racing picks for Aqueduct race track on Sunday, December 11: Smooth sailing for Rough Sea

12:50 pm ET Aqueduct race track (Race 2) – Cookie Crumbs 6/5 (2-star play)

Showed promise when two-and-a-half-lengths sixth over a mile-and-one-sixteenth on turf at Saratoga on debut back in August and proved that she handles the main track when runner-up over this course and distance subsequently. Proved a disappointment back on turf in a $75,000 maiden claimer at Aqueduct early last month however. The daughter of Mendelssohn gets a marked drop in grade to a $20,000 maiden claimer here and is taken to register a victory on her first start over six furlongs. 

1:46 pm ET Aqueduct race track (Race 4) – Spooky Road 9/5 (2-star play)

Impressed in recent starts including when delivering a five-and-a-quarter-length victory in a $50,000 starter event over a mile here on her penultimate start. Duly followed up when winning by two-and-a-quarter-lengths in an allowance over the same track and trip eight days later. Represents a useful trainer in Linda Rice and with jockey Jose Lezcano, on board for both of those victories again in the saddle the daughter of Quality Road is taken to register a third consecutive victory. 

3:12 pm ET Aqueduct race track (Race 7) – Rough Sea 9/2 (2-star play)

Demonstrated good form in recent starts including when eight lengths third in the Polynesian Stakes over a mile-and-a-sixteenth at Pimlico in September. Subsequently faded in the closing stages when beaten five-and-a-quarter-lengths into fourth over a mile-and-three-sixteenths here last month. The drop back in distance here is in his favor and Bruno Tessore’s charge is selected to register a ninth career success having delivered a good 48 second four furlong breeze at Belmont Park just under a week ago.
