Looks well placed to break her maiden switching from Fair Grounds following two consecutive third place finishes in maiden claiming races. Faded when well beaten having raced close to the speed in a five runner contest over a mile on the main track last time out and this drop back to sprinting is a positive on her all-weather debut. Has a good draw in gate two and represents a yard who do well at this venue.
2:35 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 4) – Miss Sakamoto 2/1
A $250,000 purchase at the two-year-old-in-training sales in April last year the daughter of More Than Ready demonstrated plenty of ability when finishing third in a five-and-one-half-furlong maiden special weight on the all-weather here on debut in January. Raced in fifth early on that day and having done her best work late on ultimately it wasn’t good enough to overhaul two more experienced rivals. The switch to turf shouldn’t inconvenience and she can break her maiden at the second attempt.
4:41 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Clapton 2/1
Raced exclusively at this venue in an eight race career to date breaking his maiden when taking a maiden special weight here last July. Has placed in a state-bred stakes contest since then and comes into this on the back of four consecutive on the board finishes. Narrowly beaten when a nose second having raced from off the pace over six-and-one-half-furlongs last time out this extra half-furlong looks likely to suit and Tyler Gaffalione’s mount can double his career tally.
