There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Friday, including at Aqueduct race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are +212.22 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!
Here are our best bets for today’s action at Aqueduct race track.
12:20 pm Aqueduct (Race 1) – Improper 7/5 (2-star play)
Demonstrated ability in four previous starts at this venue including when beaten nine-and-a-half-lengths into third in a mile maiden special weight contest here in early March. Off the track since finishing seventh over the same trip on a good main track here the following month the $350,000 yearling purchase has delivered a string of timed works in recent weeks and is taken to resume with a victory with the switch to sprinting looking likely to suit the Into Mischief colt.
12:50 pm Aqueduct (Race 2) – Melting Snow 8/5 (2-star play)
She finished on the board in each of her last three starts including when beaten two lengths into third in a $16,000 claiming contest over six furlongs here early last month. She claimed subsequently by current connections the Dialed In filly gets a drop in grade for this contest and was the winner of a $100,000 allowance event at Oaklawn Park less than a year ago. She has the services of the useful Jose Lezcano and looks up to registering an eighth victory.
1:42 pm Aqueduct (Race 4) – John’s Protégé 8/5 (2-star play)
Runner-up on two of his three starts this year including when beaten three-and-a-half-lengths over five-and-a-half-furlongs in a $40,000 maiden claiming event at Saratoga on debut in August last year. Given a break since a length-and-a-quarter defeat over six-and-a-half-furlongs in a $50,000 maiden claimer at Keeneland in April the son of Tapiture hails from the powerful Wesley Ward barn and making his first start at this venue he is taken to get off the mark at the third time of asking.
2:42 pm Aqueduct (Race 6) – Complete Agenda 6/5 (2-star play)
Winner of a maiden special weight over this course and distance back in April the son of Curlin has finished on the board just once in five subsequent starts. They have come in much stronger contests than he tackles here including in allowance contests at Churchill Downs on his two most recent starts. Handler Todd Pletcher boasts a 20% strike-rate (9/45) at this meeting and his representative here is selected to deliver a victory on his first claiming race start.
3:40 pm Aqueduct (Race 8) – Amundson 7/5 (2-star play)
He made all the running to deliver a neck victory on his sole start for his previous handler, a six-and-a-half-furlong $40,000 claiming contest here in October and duly made the perfect start to his time with current trainer Linda Rice when scoring by a length in a six furlong allowance optional claimer here last month. Delivered a triple digit speed figure on a good main track that day and looks up to following up with Kendrick Carmouche booked to ride.
