There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Belmont Park race track. We are still in fine form with our picks; we have hit 60 winners in our last 139 races, profiting 85.9 units during this stretch. Let’s keep it rolling! Here are 5 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.
1:00 pm Belmont Park (Race 1) – Java Buzz 2/1
A $210,000 purchase at the two-year-old in training sales at Ocala back in April the selection made a highly promising debut when finishing one-and-a-half-lengths second to a more experienced rival in a five-and-one-half-furlong maiden special weight on turf at Saratoga last month. Raced from off the pace on that occasion and with the step up in distance here looking likely to suit he is taken to get off the mark at the second time of asking for trainer Linda Rice.
2:04 pm Belmont Park (Race 3) – Enchanting 5/2
Placed on all four previous starts in maiden special weight company including three times at this venue the daughter of More Than Ready registered her best figure so far in finishing a neck second in a mile event on turf at Saratoga in July. Has shown improved form in the mornings since that effort including when delivering a 48.09 four furlong breeze at Saratoga eight days ago and she looks capable of breaking her maiden in this contest.
2:33 pm Belmont Park (Race 4) – Lone Rock 1/2
Has taken his form to a new level since stepping up to tackle distance races on the main track including when delivering a wide margin victory in the Grade 2 Brooklyn Stakes over a mile-and-a-half here on his penultimate start. Followed that up with further stakes success in the one-mile-six-furlong Birdstone Stakes at Saratoga and looking a cut above his rivals here he is taken to complete a five-timer with regular jockey Ramon Vazquez taking the ride.
5:14 pm Belmont Park (Race 9) – Creative Flair 7/2
Showed plenty of ability in Europe winning three times on turf in the UK prior to finishing third in the Group 3 Prix Chloe over one-mile-and-one-furlong at Chantilly in July. Caught the eye in finishing third having raced from off the pace under Mike Smith in the Grade 3 Saratoga Oaks Invitational Stakes at Saratoga on US debut last month and she looks up to delivering a first stakes success stepping up in distance with Jamie Spencer in the saddle.
5:45 pm Belmont Park (Race 10) – Bolshoi Ballet 5/2
A winner twice at Group 3 level in Ireland earlier this year the selection made a winning US debut when putting a below par Epsom Derby effort behind him to take the Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes over a mile-and-a-quarter here on his penultimate start. Disappointed when fourth at Saratoga subsequently. He looks to be worth another try at this mile-and-a-half distance and is taken to provide trainer Aidan O’Brien with a victory in this valuable contest.
