There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Tuesday, including at Zia Park race track. Outclassed when contesting the Grade 1 Ballerina Handicap at Saratoga on her penultimate start the daughter of Curlin delivered a solid second place finish in the Flashy Lady Stakes at Remington Park last time out. Beaten three-and-three-quarter-lengths over six furlongs on that occasion the Steve Asmussen-trained mare is likely to race from off the pace and coming into this contest fresh having been given a short break she looks capable of delivering a fourth career success with Irad Ortiz up.
4:42 pm Zia Park (Race 7) – Tolonda 8/5
Trainer Austin Gustafson’s filly made an impressive start to her racing career when drawing eight-and-a-quarter-lengths clear of her seven rivals in making all to take a five furlong maiden special weight contest at Remington Park last month. Registered a couple of fair timed works at the same venue subsequently and stepping up to stakes company the daughter of Bind looks likely to prove hard to beat with Lane Luzzi taking the ride for the first time.
6:03 pm Zia Park (Race 10) – Lady Mystify 6/5
A wide margin maiden special weight winner at Santa Anita earlier this year the daughter of Bernardini has shown form at a higher level in the past including when taking the Grade 3 Remington Park Oaks over this mile-and-one-sixteenth distance in September. Given a break since then Peter Eurton’s filly comes into this event on the back of a 1:00.20 five furlong work at Santa Anita and she can complete a double in the final race on the card.
