2:58 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Cascade Park 5/2
Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a $39,000 Maiden Optional Claiming contest for two-year-olds and my selection is Cascade Park who’s latest second at Gulfstream Park was very good and if she can build on that she should take some stopping. After finishing fourth and second on her first two starts at Presque Isle Downs, Michael Trombetta’s filly then travelled to this course for a Maiden Special Weight and lost out by a nose to Alittleloveandluck with a margin of five and a half lengths back to the third placed horse so if she runs close to that she can win this.
3:28 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Flap Jack 8/1
Jack Sisterson’s Flap Jack will be one of the outsiders in Race 7 at Gulfstream Park but don’t let that put you off as this colt has more than enough ability to win this Allowance Optional Claimer if things fall right for him and that could quite easily happen. He’s a Black Type winner who is at his best when able to come from off a fast pace and he should get that as there’s plenty of pace down on his inside so hopefully he can pick them off late.
3:59 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Jezebel’s Kitten 7/2
The penultimate race at Gulfstream Park is a competitive $62,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event over a mile on the turf and it’s the horse in stall six, Jezebel’s Kitten, who has yet to win this season but has been knocking on the door in similar contests and is taken to win this one. Form figures this calendar year read 244334 with her best effort being that second placed finish which came over this course and distance and it’s only a matter of time before she gets her head in front again.
4:32 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Charlottes Way +600
A large field is set to go to post for this $23,000 Maiden Claimer and a chance is taken on Jack Sisterson’s Charlottes Way who had a debut to forget at Keeneland in October but she can put that firmly behind her here.She was bumped coming out of the stalls and could never get into the race on a Sloppy track so she had to face all of the kickback which wouldn’t have been nice for her first run so hopefully things will be different this time around and this beautifully bred filly can go well.
