There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Wednesday, including at Finger Lakes race track. Here are four runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.
2:58 pm Finger Lakes (Race 5) – Invaluable Will +200
Race 5 at Finger Lakes is a $18,000 Claiming contest over six furlongs and this one should go to one of the more likely fancied runners in Invaluable Will. Debra Breed’s gelding has plenty of good form in the book having won two races here at Finger Lakes already in his career and has finished placed on numerous occasions from nineteen starts. He has been running well in Allowance company since 2019 and this will be his first ever run in this grade so the drop back in class should see him in the winners circle once more.
3:25 pm Finger Lakes (Race 6) – Moneymeister +800
Moneymeister could be a ‘money maker’ in Race 6 at Finger Lakes as this longshot knows how to win races and is overpriced in this Starter Optional Claiming event. He is a seven-year-old which makes him the oldest horse in this field but with age comes experience and he won twice here in 2019 and is certainly up to winning another race in this grade. This will be his first run for nearly eight months but that can work to his advantage as his legs would have had a nice rest and he can give another good account of himself.
3:52 pm Finger Lakes (Race 7) – Run For Boston +400
The penultimate race at Finger Lakes is a $24,700 Allowance race featuring a small field and I like Run For Boston in this one. This son of Include has form figures of 151 at this course with his two other wins being at Aqueduct and, although recent form hasn’t been his best, he has been given a nice break and comes into this fresh. Connections have been keeping him busy with recent workouts at the track and he can run big at a track he likes.
4:19 pm Finger Lakes (Race 8) – Talespin +350
Talespin has yet to win a race from twenty-eight starts but that may be about to change in the final race at Finger Lakes, a $13,500 Maiden Claiming for three-year-olds and upward. On paper this doesn’t look like the strongest race and, having done most of his racing at Aqueduct, Saratoga and Belmont, this gelding finished second in this grade on his first start here last month. With that run under his belt I see no reason why he cannot gain that elusive first win of his career in this low grade contest.
