2:58 pm Fair Grounds (Race 5) – Net A Bear 7/5
Completed a hat-trick when delivering a half-length victory in the seven furlong Magnolia Stakes on the main track at Delta Downs at the end of October. Returned from a short break on that occasion having delivered a victory in the Louisiana Cup Distaff Stakes over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at Louisiana Downs prior. Return to a mile-and-one-sixteenth is no issue here and she can provide jockey Timothy Thornton with a winner in this stakes race restricted to Louisiana-bred fillies and mares.
3:56 pm Fair Grounds (Race 7) – Ova Charged 7/5
The winner of three of her four starts to date Jose Camejo’s charge suffered her only defeat when finishing runner-up in the Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes over six-and-one-half-furlongs at Belmont Park in July. The daughter of Star Guitar meets a Grade 2 winner in Cilla here but having delivered a wide margin victory in a good time when contesting a six furlong allowance optional claimer here subsequently she is taken to register a first stakes success.
4:54 pm Fair Grounds (Race 9) – Unified Report 5/2
The son of Unified is unbeaten in two starts following up a length victory in a maiden special weight over six-and-one-half-furlongs at Churchill Downs in September with a two-and-a-quarter-length triumph in the Louisiana Legacy Stakes over seven furlongs at Delta Downs the following month. The drop back in distance looks unlikely to inconvenience Dallas Stewart’s charge and coming into this on the back of a 48.40 four furlong breeze here he can maintain his unbeaten record.
6:21 pm Fair Grounds (Race 12) – Free Like A Girl 9/5
The winner of four of her last five starts the daughter of El Deal completed a Delta Downs Stakes double when taking the My Trusty Cat Stakes over a mile by one-and-a-half-lengths last month. The selection won a stakes event over five-and-one-half-furlongs at Evangeline Downs in September and as such the drop back to six furlongs shouldn’t inconvenience and she is taken to provide jockey Pedro Cotto Jr and handler Chasey Deville Pomier with a stakes success.
6:50 pm Fair Grounds (Race 13) – Bron And Brow 3/1
A relatively expensive $200,000 purchase at the two-year-old-in-training sale at Ocala in April the son of Gormley caught the eye in delivering a solid third place finish in a six-and-one-half-furlong maiden special weight at Del Mar when debuting last month. The colt gets an easier looking contest here and he can prove capable of getting off the mark at the second time of asking having been fastest of 90 to work over four furlongs when clocking 47.60 earlier this month.
