12:55 pm Churchill Downs (Race 4) – Front Street 7/5
Belatedly got off the mark when delivering a one-and-a-half-length victory in a maiden claiming contest over six furlongs here at the start of last month and followed that up with a solid second place finish having tried to make all in a starter allowance upped to a mile-and-one-sixteenth here earlier this month. Drop back in distance is a positive and she can double her career tally with Joel Rosario taking the ride in this six runner affair.
3:24 pm Churchill Downs (Race 9) – All In Sync 5/2
An expensive $310,000 purchase at the two-year-old in training sales in April Steve Asmussen’s charge demonstrated plenty of ability when finishing two-and-a-quarter-lengths second having raced close to the pace in a maiden special weight over six furlongs at Keeneland last month. Had to race five wide entering the straight that day and with improvement likely he is selected to get off the mark at the second attempt having registered a 1:02.00 five furlong breeze here earlier this month.
4:22 pm Churchill Downs (Race 11) – Bonny South 9/5
Placed in Grade 1 company in three of her last four starts the daughter of Munnings raced from off the pace when finishing third in a six runner renewal of the Grade 1 Spinster Stakes over this trip at Keeneland last time out. Similar tactics look likely here and having shown a liking for this track when runner-up in this race 12 months ago she is taken to register a fifth career win and a second at Grade 2 level.
