There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Aqueduct race track. We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now, up 297.65 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5. Let’s keep it rolling!
Here are our best bets for today’s action at Aqueduct.
1:20 pm Aqueduct (Race 1) – Lakota Spirit 6/5 (2-star play)
A $250,000 purchase at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale back in 2020 the daughter of Curlin has shown plenty of ability in two starts at Gulfstream Park to date. Placed second on each occasion including when beaten two-and-a-quarter-lengths in a mile maiden special weight on a muddy track at the Florida venue in February. Registered some solid works in the morning since and looks capable of getting off the mark at the third time of asking with Manny Franco up.
2:23 pm Aqueduct (Race 3) – Guardian Moon 8/5 (2-star play)
Lightly-raced for a four-year-old with just the three starts to her name the selection showed useful form early in her career including when drawing four-and-a-half-lengths clear of her rivals in an allowance over six furlongs at this venue in April last year. Off the track subsequently she proved a disappointment in a five furlong stakes event at Gulfstream Park in February. The extra distance looks likely to suit here and she is selected to resume winning ways.
3:23 pm Aqueduct (Race 5) – Expand The Map 1/1 (2-star play)
The daughter of Dark Angel was an expensive yearling purchase in the UK back in 2020 and while beaten when odds-on for a mile-and-one-sixteenth maiden special weight at Saratoga when debuting on a good turf course last July she showed plenty of ability in finishing three-quarters-of-a-length second to subsequent Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Pizza Bianca. Chad Brown’s charge sets the standard on form and is taken to break her maiden on her first start of the year.
4:27 pm Aqueduct (Race 7) – Agility 7/2 (2-star play)
Broke his maiden when scoring by a length in a maiden special weight over six-and-one-half-furlongs here in early December and has placed second twice in stakes company subsequently. Beaten two-and-three-quarter-lengths having chased the pace when racing in second over seven furlongs here last month on his latest outing. The extra distance here should prove no issue and he can score for trainer Jorge R Abreu dropping to allowance company with Dylan Davis booked to ride once more.
5:01 pm Aqueduct (Race 8) – Microphone 7/5 (2-star play)
Shown good form in two starts to date following up an impressive four length victory in a maiden special weight over a mile at Tampa Bay Downs back in January with a five-and-a-quarter-length second in a Gulfstream Park allowance contest over a mile-and-one-sixteenth the following month. Given a short break since then the Siyouni gelding missed an intended engagement last week when a race was switched to the main track and he looks up to doubling his career tally.
