Trae Young (ATL) to record 10+ assists (-142)

With 3 NBA Play-in Tournament games under his belt, Trae Young knows what’s at stake on Tuesday as the Hawks head into Orlando hoping to cause the upset. They are unlikely to come even close to doing that without their point guard and best player putting up big numbers. Facing a Magic team that ranks among the top 3 in most defensive categories this season will be a challenge, but Young has had some really solid games against them in 3 meetings this season. In 36.7 minutes per game, he posted averages of 28.3 points and 8 assists per game, while a week ago in Orlando he dished out 10 assists in the most recent game with meaning between the 2 teams.

The Magic have done a fabulous job at containing their opponents’ ball movement this season, but in their last 3 games to close out the season that number has gone up to 25.3 assists per game, which is an increase of almost 3 assists. Young finished the regular season averaging 12.8 dimes per game in his last 9 outings, while in 38 road games he averaged 11.9 per game. I’m confident he can reach double digits in the biggest game of the year for Atlanta.

Dyson Daniels (ATL) to record 8+ rebounds (+164)

Losing their leading rebounder Jalen Johnson back in late January was a devastating blow for the Hawks, but they’ve been able to overcome that with others stepping up in his place. Dyson Daniels has definitely contributed in that area, averaging career highs across the board in only his 3rd season in the NBA. He capped off the year averaging 7.2 rebounds per game in his final 9 outings, which is comparable to his average of 7.3 boards per game he had in the 3 meetings with Orlando this season.

Tuesday’s game will be a battle between 2 teams playing contrasting styles, as the Hawks will try to speed things up here which could result in more rebounding opportunities on both ends. Daniels played limited minutes in the postseason earlier in his career with the Pelicans, so this will be his first real opportunity to make a name for himself on the biggest stage. Let’s hope he can take advantage of it.

Franz Wagner (ORL) to score 20+ points (-410)

To wrap up our Hawks vs Magic Same Game Parlay, I am going with the reliable scoring machine that is Franz Wagner. The forward coming out of Germany is averaging 22.7 points per game over his last 20 games, and he has cleared this line in all but 4 of those games. Together with Paolo Banchero, Wagner makes one of the most lethal scoring duos in the NBA, and both are expected to produce big numbers on the offensive end in Tuesday’s game.

In his last 8 games against Atlanta, Wagner is averaging 22.5 points per game. The Hawks aren’t exactly elite in any area on defense, which is visible from their efficiency numbers over the past 10 games, ranking just 20th in the NBA. He’s torched the Hawks for an average of 28 ppg in 3 meetings this season, so look for him to set the tone here after closing out the regular season with 12 consecutive 20+ point games.
