Green Bay Packers 2022 season recap
The Aaron Rodgers era officially ended in 2022 as the 8-9 season was enough for Rodgers to decide to play somewhere else for the first time in his career. Green Bay finished 3rd in the NFC North, behind the Vikings and the Lions, and above the lowly Bears. It was clear that Rodgers’ thumb injury was bothering him more than what he would tell the media, and that caused Green Bay’s offense to suffer. However, there were some positives on offense such as how Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon both had productive seasons in the backfield. But the question remains – what will the Packers look like without Rodgers?

Green Bay Packers 2023 NFL season predictions
The key pieces of Green Bay’s offense in 2022 are gone. Starting quarterback? Gone. Starting tight end Robert Tonyan? Gone. Wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb? Gone. As you might be able to tell, the Packers offense is going to look a lot different in 2023. Jordan Love will be the QB1 and Christian Watson will have the chance to become the star of the offense at receiver, but besides Watson, Green Bay’s wide receiver and tight end depth is slim. The Packers lost so many key players in the offseason and did not acquire enough talent to fill the holes. I’m not expecting much from the Packers this season.
Here are a couple of my Green Bay-related predictions for the upcoming season.
Best bet: Green Bay Packers to finish 4th in NFC North (+175)
It’s a rebuilding year in Green Bay, and there’s no shame in coming in last. The Packers and the Bears have the same odds to win the division, but the teams have totally different mindsets heading into the 2023 season. Chicago has Justin Fields entering his third season and has added several big names to its offense (D.J. Moore) and defense (Tremaine Edmunds) so that the Bears can be a threat this season. Meanwhile the Packers have lost nearly all of their offensive talent, except for their running backs, and added nothing in return. And on top of that, this will be Love’s first full season in the NFL. This should be the first year of a short rebuild for the Packers, so I’m expecting a rough season for Green Bay.
Green Bay Packers season record prediction: 7-10
The Packers are fortunate to not have a terribly tough schedule in 2023. However, playing the Bears, Lions and Vikings twice could easily be 6 losses. Realistically, that’s at least 4 losses at the minimum, and I haven’t even mentioned the more difficult games against the Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders, Saints and more. I do think that Green Bay could beat the Buccaneers, Falcons and Panthers if Love has a decent game. This should be a year of growing pains for Love and the Packers.
