A fortnight after the intensity of the Masters, the Zurich Classic heads into view on the PGA Tour and the 2-man team event should be competitive and attract some big names, even if the unstoppable Scottie Scheffler is giving it a miss. Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are surprising competitors in the tournament which will see 80 teams battling it out, using a fourball format for rounds one and three and then their foursomes, alternate shot game on Friday and Sunday.

Zalatoris was 4th in this tournament 2 years ago when he partnered Riley and this could be a well-matched partnership with Theegala, who has posted 5 top-10s this year, including 2nd behind Scheffler at the Heritage.

Billy Horschel & Tyson Alexander (+5000)

As far as players further down the list go, it’s worth considering Billy Horschel and Tyson Alexander. Horschel won the Corales Puntacana last week and has triumphed in this event twice in an individual and team format. He has also finished 4th and 2nd in the last few years and clearly relishes the format. Horschel’s enthusiasm should help Alexander, who will have had a confidence boost at being picked to play alongside such a seasoned Zurich performer.
