The Netherlands produced a counter-attacking masterclass to register a 3-1 success over the United States in the round of 16, and similar tactics could work against Argentina — which will be happy to dominate possession.
Defending crosses should not be a problem for the Dutch given the aerial power of Virgil van Dijk, and whenever an Argentinian attack breaks down there is always going to be the opportunity for a dangerous counter-attack. Even if some of the Dutch fans and media were slow to buy into Louis Van Gaal’s approach, the players appear to have been on board from the outset and they will look to continue carrying out his plan. For that reason backing the Netherlands to win or draw will be the play.

NBA pick today: Phoenix Suns -2 over New Orleans Pelicans (-110), 8:40 pm ET
These 2 teams played earlier in the season on October 28th and the Suns defeated the Pelicans 124-111. The Pelicans were without Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram to keep it in perspective. For tonight, Ingram is listed out which is a blow for the Pelicans as he is most certainly a threat on the floor.
This is a nice buy-low spot for the Suns as they are slowly getting back to full strength with Chris Paul returning back to the starting lineup. In the past 5 games these 2 teams met, the Suns have won and covered the spread in 4 out of the 5 games. For that reason backing the Suns will be the play.

College Basketball pick today: Washington Huskies vs Gonzaga Bulldogs – Over 148.5 points (-105), 9:00 pm ET
The best play looks to be the over in this game because both teams like to play at a fast pace and because Gonzaga still has 1 of the most powerful offenses in the country. According to KenPom, Gonzaga is ranked #76 in adjusted tempo and Washington is ranked #105.
These teams will look to get up and down the floor and Gonzaga will look to use their offense to overpower Washington. The Zags are averaging 80.2 points per game and are ranked #4 in offensive adjusted efficiency. They should continue their winning streak here and should shoot the basketball well on their home floor. For that reason backing the over will be the play.

NHL pick today: San Jose Sharks vs Anaheim Ducks – Over 6.5 goals (+100), 10:00 pm ET
The Sharks have the 2nd-best record toward the over this season, behind only the Vancouver Canucks. The Sharks are also allowing the 6th-most goals per game, which is something even the Ducks can take advantage of. It should only take 2 or 3 goals from them to get this game over the total.
Anaheim, on the other hand, has been the worst goaltending team all season, and are still 1 of just 2 teams allowing more than 4 goals per game. The Sharks may not be a complete team, but they can at least put up goals. These teams have already met twice this season with totals of 11 and 9 total goals, so expect a similar result tonight.
