We’ve put together a four-pick cross-sport parlay that will take you right through Wednesday, including action from the MLS and the MLB.
Two picks are taken from each sport and a winning ticket gives us a nice payout with odds at +1,413 with BetMGM; that’s more than 14/1! Let’s break down each of these four plays. Remember to gamble responsibly.
MLB pick: Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 (-105), 7:07 pm ET
With each passing start, Robbie Ray is becoming the Jays’ best starter and a legitimate Cy Young candidate. In three July starts he has given up just two earned runs over 20 innings. The combination of Tanner Houck, a name the market knows little about, and the Jays having their best pitcher on the hill, makes Toronto a strong favorite on Wednesday. If you jumped on the opening line it might have made sense on the money line but not at the current price. Every time the Jays have won with Ray on the mound the margin has been at least a couple of runs. They have hit well at home all season too so the offense should not be a problem.

Best MLS pick: CF Montreal vs. New York City FC Over 2.5 Goals (-200), 7:30 pm ET
NYC haven’t been scoring at the frequency they’d like, but their opponents have yet to keep a clean sheet this year. We wondered earlier this season how they would cope after losing Alexandru Mitrita and suggested Valentin Castellanos would be the man to step it up at striker. That was certainly the case early on, and while Castellanos has gone cold in his last few matches, he understands that the situation is dire now for a team that’s lost two in a row, and he has the talent to make an impact against Montreal. These teams met just two weeks ago in a 2-1 win for Montreal, so bet on at least three goals between the teams once again.

Best MLS pick: Atlanta United ML (+210) vs. FC Cincinnati, 8:00 pm ET
The good news for Atlanta is the fact that they’re playing arguably the worst team in the league in FC Cincinnati. Cincinnati, who finished in a distant last place in 2020, scored four goals for the first time in franchise history last weekend in Montreal and were still unable to come away with even a single point, as goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer put together yet another questionable performance, conceding five times. Josef Martinez, Atlanta’s most dangerous forward, didn’t play in the team’s last game as the continued result of his public disagreement with Heinze. Now that his former coach is no longer on the sidelines, Martinez will not only be in the lineup, but he’ll be extra-motivated to bring a winning culture to the team he’s now played at for five seasons. Take Atlanta on the money line.

MLB pick: Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox ML (-150), 8:10 pm ET
Dylan Cease has struggled a bit over his last three outings, but two of those three starts were on the road. Cease is much more comfortable at home, where he is 4-1 with a 2.15 ERA and .199 BAA in nine starts this season. The White Sox are 7-2 in those nine home starts, and they continue to be one of the better home teams in the league. Chicago leads the AL with 35 home wins, and they should be able to finish this series with a win over Minnesota. Back the White Sox.
