We have put together a 4-pick cross-sport parlay that will take you right through Thursday, including action from the NHL, NBA, EPL and MLB. One pick is taken from each sport and a winning ticket would give us a nice payout with odds of +2425 at DraftKings. Let’s break down each of these plays.
MLB: Oakland Athletics ML (+100) vs Detroit Tigers, 1:10 pm ET
Based on the starting pitchers in this contest, the wrong team may be favored. The A’s opened up at +110 but James Kaprielian is coming off a great start against a dangerous Twins lineup, allowing only 1 run on 3 hits across 5.2 innings. There was some concern after Kaprielian missed time with AC joint irritation and he had the shortest start of his career in his first start of the year, making it only 2.0 innings. However, he seems to be at full strength now and should build on his previous start.
Beau Brieske has only 15.0 innings of major-league action, going 5.0 innings in each of his starts but has had trouble keeping the ball in the park. Brieske has already allowed 5 long balls but has fortunately given up only 7 runs. It’s almost impossible to believe these home runs aren’t going to turn into 2 or 3-run blasts that can open up a game quickly. His 14.3% strikeout rate along with a 5.52 xERA is reason for concern and enough to side with the A’s to pick up another win over an inferior Detroit ball club. Back the A’s to close out the series.

EPL: Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal – Over 3.5 goals (+215), 2:45 pm ET
Tottenham knows it can mix it with the best teams in Europe after completing a league double over Manchester City and holding Liverpool to a pair of ties, the latest at Anfield last weekend. Spurs have posted wide-margin home wins over Everton (5-0), West Ham (3-1), Newcastle (5-1) and Leicester (3-1) recently, although they lost the teams’ first meeting this season 3-1, allowing 3 goals in the first 34 minutes. Attack may be the best form of defense for Tottenham but Arsenal has beaten Leeds, West Ham, Manchester United and Chelsea in its last 4 games, scoring 11 goals, and can contribute to an exciting contest.

NHL: Carolina Hurricanes ML (+110) vs Boston Bruins, 7:00 pm ET
There have been 4 goalies used this playoff series. The Hurricanes’ regular starter, Frederik Andersen, was injured heading into the playoffs and has yet to play, so the Hurricanes have turned to Anti Raanta, who is projected to start Game 6, and ranks 5th in goals saved above expected. Because the Bruins have been dealing with inconsistent play at goalie, look for Raanta and the Hurricanes to close out this series as the underdog.

NBA: Phoenix Suns -2 (-110) vs Dallas Mavericks, 9:30 pm ET
Closing out the series in Dallas won’t be easy as the Mavs are 31-13 SU at home this season, but it’s hard to believe they can play as well as they did in Games 3 and 4 against a superior Suns team. The Mavs are averaging 103.4 points per game in this series, and that’s just not going to cut it at this level. Sure, their defense has been consistent for the most part in home games, but it all boils down to making shots at this stage of the season.
A team like Phoenix should be able to figure things out faster than other teams. They played poorly on their last 2 trips to Dallas, but I’m expecting a totally different game tonight. It’s time for Chris Paul to turn back the clock and carry the Suns to the Western Conference finals. Take the road team to cover.
