We have put together a 4-pick cross-sport parlay that will take you right through Thursday night, including action from the NFL preseason and MLB.
Three picks are taken from the MLB with 1 coming from the NFL preseason. A winning ticket gives us a nice payout with odds at +1291 with BetMGM; that’s more than 12/1! Let’s break down each of these plays. Remember to gamble responsibly.
MLB pick: Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays – Over 9 runs (-105), 1:10pm ET
Over the first 3 games of this series, the Rays have scored 9, 10, and then 8 runs and each game has gone over. With them scoring like that, it is hard not to like the over this afternoon — which has been set at 9 after 3 straight 8.5s.
In the 3 losses, the Orioles have scored only 6 total runs and were shut out once. Tampa Bay is now up to 2nd in the majors in scoring. The Rays’ offense is red hot and while it won’t last forever, Baltimore does not seem like the team to slow them down right now. Take the over.

MLB pick: Houston Astros -1.5 (-105) vs Kansas City Royals, 2:10pm ET
The Royals will send Mike Minor to the hill today as they look to close out a shocking sweep. Minor will be opposed by Luis Garcia, who carries a 3.30 ERA, 3.66 xERA, and a 3.43 FIP into today’s action. Across 111.2 innings in 2021, he has posted a strong 1.12 WHIP, supported by a 29.7 strikeout percentage and a 7.7 percent walk rate. In his last 5 trips to the mound, he has turned in a 4.10 ERA and a 3.02 FIP with a 33.9 strikeout percentage and a 5.5% walk rate. Garcia should deliver a strong performance against a Kansas City lineup that ranks 26th in OPS over the last 2 weeks.
In the series finale, Houston has the starting pitching advantage and a better lineup. Bettors should trust them to avoid the sweep this afternoon.

NFL preseason pick: New England Patriots -1.5 (-105) vs Philadelphia Eagles, 7:30pm ET
The NFL preseason will resume with the beginning of Week 2 on Thursday as the Philadelphia Eagles host the New England Patriots. For a few reasons the Pats look the best bet here. For starters, the Eagles made Dwayne Haskins look like a competent NFL quarterback last week. If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know, I don’t know what does. The Pats, on the other hand, ran all over Washington and their strong defense on their way to a 22-13 victory. With a quarterback competition raging between Cam Newton and Mac Jones, the Patriots’ offense has a lot more to play for. Bill Belichick vs first-time head coach Nick Sirianni? Give me Belichick all day long.
MLB pick: Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 (-115) vs St. Louis Cardinals, 7:45pm ET
The Milwaukee Brewers are running away with the NL Central, and they’re doing it because of their starting pitching. They have had 3 aces carry them through the season, and while they’ve all been stellar since the start Brandon Woodruff has perhaps been the best of all. Woodruff has pitched to an outstanding 2.18 ERA in his 23 outings, averaging more than 6.0 innings per start and holding opposing hitters to a batting average of just .182.
The Cardinals’ acquisition of Jon Lester is still somewhat of a mystery. The veteran lefty is clearly at the end of his career and wasn’t enjoying much success at all in Washington. While he did pitch better in his last outing against the Royals, his ERA in 3 starts as a Cardinal is 6.75. First-place Milwaukee should knock him out early.
