We have put together a 4-pick cross-sport parlay that will take you right through Thursday, including action from college basketball, the NHL, NFL, and NBA.
One pick is taken from each sport and a winning ticket gives us a nice payout with odds at +1177 with DraftKings — that’s more than 11/1! Let’s break down each of these plays.
College Basketball: Appalachian State Mountaineers vs Duke Blue Devils – Over 138.5 points (-120), 7pm ET
This total feels low given that Duke is 8th in the nation in scoring, averaging 85 points per game. In their 6 previous games as big favorites, they have scored more than 80 points all but once. The total is more likely determined by how many points the Mountaineers score. I think we can count on them to score enough to get an over with the Blue Devils doing the heavy lifting. At some point their slow-down style will be moot. Take the over.

NHL: Vegas Golden Knights – Win in Regulation (-115) vs New Jersey Devils, 7:08pm ET
Defense has been a struggle for both teams. They both rank in the bottom 5 in expected goals against and bottom 13 in goals allowed and goals against per game. Offensive is where there is separation in this matchup. They both generate strong offensive pressure as they both rank in the top 8 in expected goals for. However, the Golden Knights are much better at converting that pressure into goals. Vegas is a top 4 team in terms of goals for and goals for per game, whereas the Devils rank in the bottom 10. Look to the healthier team that can finish their opportunities and place your wager on the Knights to win this one in regulation.

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers vs Brooklyn Nets -1 (-110), 7:40pm ET
Brooklyn is one of those teams that has been hit by Covid a lot; currently it has 7 players in the health and safety protocols, plus Kyrie Irving and Joe Harris are also out. That means the Nets only have 8 players available, so it’s up to Kevin Durant to literally carry them on his shoulders. He has been able to do so in his last two games by scoring 51 points vs the Pistons and 34, plus 13 boards and 11 dimes vs Toronto.
Philly did play last night while Brooklyn had an extra day off, so that might regulate the fatigue factor a bit here. The Sixers have let me down so many times this season; I’m just unable to trust them right now. The Nets are 4-1 SU in their last 5 and 9-1 SU in their last 10 vs Eastern Conference opponents. Give me Brooklyn to cover.

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers +3 (-105), 8:20pm ET
The Chiefs haven’t scored more than 22 points against a team that’s not the Raiders since October 17. On the flip side, the Chargers’ offense is humming and it looks like they sorted out a lot of their issues during the bye week. I also think talk of the Chiefs’ defensive resurgence has been a bit overblown. Kansas City has faced a weak slate of offenses lately and they’ve also caught plenty of breaks, like when they got to face the Packers the one week Aaron Rodgers had COVID and Jordan Love started. This is about to be their biggest test since way back in Week 5 against Buffalo, when they gave up 38 points.
