One pick is taken from each sport and a winning ticket would give us a nice payout with odds of +1279 at DraftKings. Let’s break down each of these plays.
NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves vs Memphis Grizzlies -6.5 (-110), 3:30 pm ET
Opening the postseason at home will be a special feeling for Memphis and I expect a young team to come out with a ton of energy, especially since we know Ja Morant is back and ready to play. The Grizzlies were one of the most reliable teams against the spread in home games this season, covering in 27 of 41. They also have the experience from last year’s postseason, plus the rest advantage is on their side as they made the postseason the old fashion way.
The play-in game took a toll on the Timberwolves for sure, and I just can’t see them getting anything on the road against a much superior team. The Grizzlies covered the spread in 52 of 82 games during the regular season. Beating a team like Minnesota by 7 points at home is very realistic. Take Memphis.

MLB: Los Angeles Angels ML (-120) vs Texas Rangers, 7:00 pm ET
Texas’ starter Taylor Hearn gets his second start of the season in this matchup. Hearn went just 4 innings against the Rockies last week allowing 8 hits and 1 run in a no decision in which he also struck out 6. Although the strikeout number is good, 8 hits in 4 innings and getting pulled after 4 leave plenty to be desired for the Rangers. Hearn has good stuff and could very well find himself this season. But for now, he is too big of a question mark especially facing a lineup with Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, Jared Walsh, and Anthony Rendon. Noah Syndergaard and the Angels lineup are more of a sure thing for this matchup

MLS: Orlando City SC vs Columbus Crew ML and Over 1.5 Total Goals (+115), 7:30 pm ET
Both of these clubs come into this match very close in the table and will see this match as a potential playoff matchup at the end of the season. When looking at the two sides, the home team is 10-3-3 historically in this matchup dating back to 2014 and the Crew have been very strong in front of their home faithful this season. Both teams have scored and there have been more than 2.5 goals in five of the last seven meetings between these clubs and the Crew will be hungry to get back on track after failing to win for three straight matches. Expect the home team to come out strong and there will be goals in this one.

NHL: Columbus Blue Jackets vs Los Angeles Kings 3-way ML (-120), 10:30 pm ET
Los Angeles should feel like a Saturday night party playing the Blue Jackets after taking on the Avalanche in Colorado on Wednesday. L.A. may not catch the Flames in the standings, but should be able to grab a couple points here. They did so in Columbus back at the beginning of March, led by Victor Arvidsson’s 3 points. Alongside Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe, they should find the back of the net against Columbus’ weak goaltending. The Kings are now 4 points behind Edmonton and should use this matchup to help get closer to the second-place spot.
